NEW YORK, NY, April 01, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ — Marissa Lafer, MD, has been recognized as a 2024 Castle Connolly Rising Star, the third year Dr. Lafer has received the prestigious Top Doctor honor. Only about 7 percent of the nation’s licensed physicians are selected annually as Castle Connolly Top Doctors in their regions for their specialties.

Dr. Lafer is a Facial Plastic Surgeon/Otolaryngologist located on Park Avenue in Manhattan.

Dr. Lafer expertly performs a variety of minimally invasive and surgical procedures on the face, nose, ears, and neck — cosmetic, functional, and reconstructive. These procedures include rhinoplasty (nose reshaping) as well as functional nasal surgery such as nasal valve repair, turbinate reduction, and septoplasty (correction of deviated septum); facelifts and neck lifts; blepharoplasty (repair of sagging eyelids); Mohs reconstruction; otoplasty (ear reshaping), including incisionless otoplasty and EarWell® infant ear molding; laceration repair; and scar revision.

Dr. Lafer also performs a range of non-surgical facial rejuvenation procedures and services. They include injectables such as dermal fillers and neuromodulators (wrinkle relaxers); cervical liposuction, submental microliposuction, InMode Morpheus8 radiofrequency microneedling, and FaceTite radiofrequency-assisted liposuction; fat transfer; and chemical peels.

Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery and Fellowship trained in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Dr. Lafer evaluates and treats both adults and children. She typically sees children for nasal trauma, otoplasty, EarWell, and laceration repair, but also treats congenital abnormalities.

“After listening to the patient’s concerns, I carefully evaluate them and discuss my recommendations that balance both form and function,” she says. “Together with the patient, we create a safe and realistic plan to address their concerns.”

In addition to her practice responsibilities, Dr. Lafer serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. She teaches Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery to medical students, residents, and fellows at both Bellevue Hospital and the Margaret Cochran Corbin VA Campus in Manhattan.

Dr. Lafer earned her medical degree at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. She completed a five-year otolaryngology residency at NYU Medical Center and a fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Buckingham Center for Facial Plastic Surgery in Austin, Texas.
